The week before last week, I listen to different themes from different reporters, like the Hong Kong movie-Vampire family, Ann Lee, the lesbian movie in Asia and the comparison between Taiwan and Malaysia. There are two of them impressed me most- the vampire move in Hong Kong and the comparison between Taiwan and Malaysia.
First, the vampire movie in Hong Kong. When it mention to “vampire”, the image of a handsome young man with pale skin and compact build (just like Edward Cullen) comes in my mind. However, “vampire” in Asia world becomes a creature who wears ancient costume and always jumps for moving. There is a special role in Vampire family- a little vampire who is eager to have a friend. In the film, the little vampire and a girl became good friend; he even protected her when she got into trouble. Maybe in our thoughts, every creature living in the world all have a kind and altruistic heart.
The other one is the comparison between Taiwan and Malaysia. The current situation of local film in Taiwan and Malaysia is pretty similar. Both of us have many immigrants and multiple cultures. We combine a lot of different things from different countries. But, how about our own culture? Or, “what” is our own culture? It seems that both Taiwan and Malaysia still finding our position in filmdom.
