Hi, I am Zoe Chen, a sophomore major in Communication Arts. This presentation was a really special experience of my study life. I've never participated any presentation with such a large scale like this. Every classmates made their own poster, and all so delicated. It was really an unforgetable final presentation. I did have so much fun and had a great time in this. Such a interesting class! I chose this topic: Gangster and Crime, because this was the first thought popped up in my head when I was wondering what genre of Asian movie I should present. In my humble opinion, Gangster and Crime is a special genre of all. The movies of this genre always combined with other genre. For example, it usually combined with Action, Drama, Romance, or even Comedy, etc. I chose three movies to present: Infernal Affairs(Andrew Lau, 2002), Blind Detective(Johnnie To, 2013) and That Demon Within(Dante Lam, 2014). These three films are the top three Gangster and Crime in my own ranking. Infernal Affairs is totally a classic one of all time. I believe no one will doubt it. Blind Detective is a really intersting movie with a really nice story. This one is special because it's also a Romantic Comedy. The last but not the least, That Demon Within is a new movie of this year, derected by a rising Hong Kong derector Dante Lam. I really enjoy in this film, and it shocked me a lot by its special story, casting(Daniel Wu used to act nice and kind character all the time but in this movie he changed a lot, do so much better than before, and prove himself to everyone that he can not only act positive character but also people with complicated personality), image style and shooting style. I really recommend this movie to everyone.
 

This is 楊馬帝's poster. He introduced Kim Jee-Woon the Korean derector to us. He talked about the five movies of Kim Jee-Woon and introduced them really detail. We can tell that 馬帝 is really familiar with this derector. He really love him! We can feel his passion for these movies. So I think he really did a wonderful job!
