My favorite filmmaker is Kar Wai Wong.
I really love his unique personal style that runs through all his
films. The ambiguous color, the fine rain, the intermittent soliloquy, the
atmospheric music, and the actors he selects. He puts these elements together
and created a very private space for the audience to listen to his stories. And
that’s why I love his films.
For me, seeing Kar Wai Wong’s films has always
been a special memory.
I remember the first Kar Wai Wong’s film I saw was In The Mood For Love. It was late at night when I stayed at
home alone. I turned on the TV and found the film channel was playing In The Mood For Love, a film which I had
heard about several times but never seen. The rhythm of this film was quite
slow, but I didn’t fall asleep. I just lay in the sofa, and enjoyed the film
quietly. I was deeply impressed by his personal style indeed.
