Director
Steven Allan Spielberg (born December 18, 1946) is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, video game designer.

In 2006, Premiere listed him as the most powerful and influential figure in the motion picture industry. Time listed him as one of the 100 Most Important People of the Century. At the end of the 20th century, Life named him the most influential person of his generation.

Spielberg's early science-fiction and adventure films were seen as archetypes of modern Hollywood blockbuster filmmaking. In later years, his films began addressing such issues as the Holocaust, slavery, war and terrorism. He is considered one of the most popular and influential filmmakers in the history of cinema. He is also one of the co-founders ofDreamWorks movie studio.

Among his films, I like “Schindler’s List” the most. It is a film about Oskar Schindler, a German businessman who saved the lives of more than a thousand mostly Polish-Jewish refugees during the Holocaust shortly after the beginning of World War II. Different from popular colored film and his well-known shooting style, Spielberg got rid of everything that for him might be considered a safety net, shot the film meanly in black and white like a documentary with only a few scene using color films and color-familiar methods.

About movie
Generally, I think films texts can reflect the actual environment of each generation. Through combining scenes, texts, music, a film easily brings our mind to the moment. After all, visible images are more impressive and heart-touching than pure text description.

Experience
As mentioned above, "Nazi Concentration Camp" is not merely a noun to me anymore. On the contrast, through film-style presentation, it seems like I was placed in the creepy, bloody city, keeping watching the holocaust caused by racial discrimination and the unfair treatments happened around. In “Schindler’s List,” I saw a girl in red coat, hiding along her way, trying to escape from the fatal death, however, later in the film, the only red-color coat apart from black and white was seen among the dead. Although realizing that holocaust do not care about the victims’ gender and age, I was still shocked by the finishing touch. Unfortunately, racial discrimination still happens in many countries until now.
