我們的敵人或許就是我們自已.....
It's sad to learn that the number of 藏羚羊 has reduced so significantly. However, I don't think "modern globalization" is the culprit. There were many animals and plants that became endangered species or even totally extinct long before the globalization. For example, the number of buffalo in the US started to decline significantly in the 19th century. It was not till recently that the number of buffalo started to increase. If globalization is the sole issue, we should never see the number of buffalo increase, should we?
I'm very glad to see that China also start to emphasize the environmental protection. To see it started is better than nothing. Once the wealth of a society reaches to a certain point, the people living there will build up the consciousness of the importance of nature. US is a good example. Hopefully China can speed up as fast as their economic growth.
Those who sacrifice their lives for the nature are the biggest heros. We admire and respect them.
