My topic is about "Tibetan" this time. Although I've never been there before, but I change my opinion after watched the movie "Tibet: Murder in the Snow", which is a documentary produce by BBC.
This film had recorded the process Chinese border police opened fire on the refugees, and the shooting was witnessed by many international mountain climbers, some of whom videotaped or photographed this events and also helped rescue survivors and sent the story out to the world.
I believed that the situation of Tibetan is similar with our. the political stance between China and Taiwan, and I think the only different is the Geographic.
If there is no Taiwan Strait between China and Taiwan, can we live peace more than Tibetan?
I'm glad to take part in this semester's Inter-Asia movie subject. let me realize the unique movie culture in Asia. Through classmates differently observe, extending my mind and connection about Asia Movie.

This year, i visited Tokyo Film Center,Japan on March. There hold the exhibition "Iconography of Yasujiro Ozu" to commemorate Ozu's birthday 110 years and depart 50 years.
With Ozu's painting, design, handwriting, color selected, above those historical data
to study Ozu's personal charisma and aesthetic point of view.
Is luckily i had the course "Japanese Film Study"(日本電影研究)and "Asian Film Study"(亞際電影研究), when i scanned in the area, i felt absorb a lots, close to most greatest director "Yasujiro Ozu"
I adore Ozu's describe style, slowly but also powerful. He mostly talked about family story, especially mother and son, just like his own background.

401381407 陳建良 Seniors' self-seeking,Relationships and Issues in Asian Cinemas
My topic is to talk about some social problem which use to indicate and present by Asian Cinemas. And directors also prefer to set stories background in seniors.I think it's because senior highs students wear uniforms which make them have clear identity, and their demographic structures are also simple which can let audiences concentrate on the issues but not their backgrounds. We can understand deeply about relationships between students, students and their parents or sex orientation, like gay, lesbian and bisexual.
I choose four movies, which are all presented by senior highs.First one is "Blue Gate Crossing".It's talking about sex orientation.I were shocked by the story that I didn't know what homosexuality is.Since I watched this film,I knew that heterosexuality was not the only and right way in the world. I think we couldn't decide who we loves, everybody has their rights to love. Most of us love opposite gender.Luckily,I studied in an opening high school where taught us everything and let us did everything we want even it may against the old rules. In Blue Gate Crossing, the main character kept want to help leading actress change into heterosexuality but in vain. Mong(The leading actress) had tried to change but in vain, too. What she told to Chang(main charactor) really impressed me.She siad "If you still worry about which college to apply, still single or urinating straight or not,and then you are lucky".She was the unlucky girl and couldn't be normal as conventional aspects.
The second film is a Japanese film called "KiRIShiMa BuKaTsu YaMeRuTteYo?".It shows that even a one person can influence all school simultaneously and silently. It also use overlapping format which use same – or nearly the same – scenes from different points of view, quasi-limited to a character or two.
Did you recognize wrong person of the twins?Did you think that twins would be same forever? The third one is a Taiwanese movie,"Cha Cha for twins" which talking about twins story.I enjoyed their changing progress .We don't want to be as same as other ,so do the twins.I didn't notice that twins are different people, just because they have similar physical appearance.
The last one is a Korean movie,"Bleak Night",it indicates bully, parents without take care about their children, and friends misunderstood.People include us must do something wrong or used wrong way to take care our friends and family.Bleak Night almost indicate those issues and I feel empathy,Because what happened in the movies really happened in the world two, include South Korea and Taiwan.

Hello,
everybody. My project is actresses in Zhang Yimou’s Films. First of all, I want
to introduce Zhang Yimou. He has engaged in photographer and actor for several years,
and then he is a very famous and outstanding director. He is one of the Fifth
Generation Directors. Generally speaking,
not only is he good at formalism, but also he is expert in realism. What’s more, he has
the courage to choose new actors. Attention from public has focused on
Zhang Yimou's leading ladies, such as Gong Li, Zhang Ziyi, Zhou Dongyu and
Ni Ni, who are called Mou's girls.
The first one is Gong Li. She is referred to as the most standardized Mou’s girl. She is a graduate of The
Central Academy Of Drama. In 1987, Zhang Yimou shot the film Red Sorghum. Zhang Yimou and Gong Li became famous overnight. Since then, they shot many films together, such as Red Sorghum, Ju Dou, The Story of Qiu Ju,
Curse of the Golden Flower and so on. I want to introduce another film. Lifetimes Living is also
a well-known work. The film Shows that the characters’ tragic fate. The film
wants to tell audience that to live is a kind of blessing. Appropriate lighting and sound effects
bring greater realism to
the film.
The
second one is Zhang Ziyi. She is referred to as the most well-known Mou's girl. She is also a graduate of The
Central Academy Of Drama. In 1998,Zhang
Yimou discovered Zhang Ziyi. She was sophomore at that time. She rocketed to fame for the
leading role in the
film "The Road Home". The
film looks like a beautiful picture. It shows a touching love story. It caused
strong repercussions at home and abroad. After that, she starred in a
lot of films. For example, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,
House of Flying Daggers, 2046, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Banquet, The Grandmaster and
so on. She
is the latercomers surpass the formers.
The third one is Zhou Dongyu. She is referred to as the most pure Mou's girl. In 2010, Zhang Yimou shot the film Under
the Hawthorn Tree. She plays Jing Qiu. Zhou
Dongyu became famous
overnight. At that time, she was a senior high school student and didn’t have any experience on performance. For shooting this film, she had to
give up college entrance
examination. The next year, she continued to engage in college entrance examination.
Now she is a college student in Beijing Film Academy. The film is a pure
love story. The style of the film is realistic and plain. Although the actors
are new and inexperienced, the film sets a box office record. The hero and the
heroine have a poignant romance. The film makes me quite sad. The film is
extremely sorrowful and moving. It is an excellent work of art.
The last one is Ni Ni. She is referred to as the most expectant Mou's girl. She graduates from Communication
University of China, Nanjing. She majors in broadcast and
host. She speaks Nanjing dialect and English very well. In addition, she is in
accordance with the character. These factors help her succeed. The Flowers Of War evokes
chilling reminders of the war.
In
conclusion, these actresses have a common character. Before they star
in Zhang Yimou’s film, they are unknown and nameless. After they play the
leading role, they attract considerable attention by numerous media and public.
Nowadays they cannot be only named as Mou’s girls. They are becoming increasingly important and
famous. So, Zhang Yimou is a man of great
vision. That’s all. Thank
you.

Golden
swallow The way the sword can cut down four or five
people is very Japanese influenced by Japanese ideas. The director wants to go
one better than his predecessors by having more and more violence. It’s like an
addict continuously wanting more and more bloodshed and taking violence to a
higher level. These films are not concerned with philosophy or psychology. The
more bloodshed the better it sells.

The week before last week, I listen to different themes from different reporters, like the Hong Kong movie-Vampire family, Ann Lee, the lesbian movie in Asia and the comparison between Taiwan and Malaysia. There are two of them impressed me most- the vampire move in Hong Kong and the comparison between Taiwan and Malaysia.
First, the vampire movie in Hong Kong. When it mention to “vampire”, the image of a handsome young man with pale skin and compact build (just like Edward Cullen) comes in my mind. However, “vampire” in Asia world becomes a creature who wears ancient costume and always jumps for moving. There is a special role in Vampire family- a little vampire who is eager to have a friend. In the film, the little vampire and a girl became good friend; he even protected her when she got into trouble. Maybe in our thoughts, every creature living in the world all have a kind and altruistic heart.
The other one is the comparison between Taiwan and Malaysia. The current situation of local film in Taiwan and Malaysia is pretty similar. Both of us have many immigrants and multiple cultures. We combine a lot of different things from different countries. But, how about our own culture? Or, “what” is our own culture? It seems that both Taiwan and Malaysia still finding our position in filmdom.

Hi, everyone.I'm David. This is my personal presentation - The film history of Singapore & Taiwan. Before 1960, there's two big film companies in Singapore. It made Singapore become a very important country of making movie at that time. But when it came to 1970, the two companies left Singapore so that Singapore lost the power and the important role of making movie in Asia.
At 1970, Singapore government made efforts in commodity economy, not culture. Until 1989, Singapore government submitted <國家藝術發展報告書>, and Singapore film started developing again.
Taiwan films, from the first movie made by 高松豐次郎 at 1907. 1955-Taiwanese film, 1960-健康寫實電影, 1967-武俠片, 1971-功夫片, 1975-愛國政宣片 and after that is 清新小品/學生電影.
I think that Singapore has a similar history and situation now with Taiwan. We both has short film history, and we are trying to find our specifically ways to make a movie. So these years, many different types of movie been made. That make we go forward quickly.

I think everyone have seen the American film酷斯拉 ,but this is not the first Godzilla movie. Actually this is the 30th
Godzilla movie , and not including cartoon or some small role from other movies
. This is the first time Godzilla on screen , it is a black and white film, he Is
50 meter tall , he can use the blue light come from his mouth to destroy
buildings, and he is angry all the time. The original Gozilla born because of
the nuclear ,the director wants everyone to forgot the sadness about world war
2 , united state drop the bomb to 廣島 and 長崎, the director use Godzilla
to remind people the terror about nuclear, so Godzilla was a enemy character until
this movie .

My presentation's topic is "張藝謀 and his films". He is a very famous director in China, his
movies was three times nominated for an Oscar for best foreign film.
The following I will introduce three films
in his early career, are "Red Sorghum", "Ju Dou" and
"Raise The Red Lantern".
This three films are adapted from the
novels, all the leading actress is 鞏俐, and describes the
traditional Chinese women couldn't choose their marriage.
In these films, 張藝謀 use a series of Chinese-style images and symbol.
I very love his movie's style are very
strong, for example , concern about women, the miserable fate of the
characters, distinctive color aesthetics, and good at using signifier.
